The 2022 Spring Issue of Roundtable Magazine, a publication of the Bethlehem Writers Group, is now available online.

I have the honor to be this season’s featured author with, “Desert Buzz”, a short story about a New Englander’s first Southern Nevada spring that may lead to a budding romance.

This season’s theme, Spring Abuzz, offers featured poem, “Hysteranthous”, by Maggie Kennedy. We also have short stories from William Sharon and Richard L. Shelby, poems by Alexander Zera and Christopher Clauss, Literary Learnings from Carol L. Wright, and the ever-popular writing tips from Betty Wryte-Goode.

Enjoy.

New Short Story – Just in time for the holidays

Animal Stories, Anthology, Holiday Reading

My story, “Man’s Best Friend”, is a humorous take on how earth changed after its former inhabitants return fifty-thousand years later.

***************

The award-winning “Sweet, Funny, and Strange” series of anthologies from the Bethlehem Writers Group, continues with this collection of twenty-five tales about real, legendary, or imaginary animals. From snakes to ducks to unicorns, there are tales here to match any mood, provide a chuckle, or warm a heart in our latest anthology, Fur, Feathers, and Scales.

This eclectic assemblage of stories includes terrific tales from beloved BWG authors including Courtney Annicchiarico, Jeff Baird, Jodi Bogert, Marianne H. Donley, DT Krippene, Emily P. W. Murphy, Christopher D. Ochs, Dianna Sinovic, Kidd Wadsworth, Paul Weidknecht, Carol L. Wright, and Will Wright.

Among our tales, Peter Barbour recounts a legend in “Why Bats Live in Caves,” Jerome W. McFadden asks the question of what animal to choose to be in “Recycled,” A. E. Decker shares an appreciation of cephalopods in “Tipping Point,” Ralph Hieb imagines an unconventional pet in “Buttons,” andDiane Sismour, in “Critter,” reveals that mules are not the only equines that can have a stubborn streak.

In addition, we are happy to present the winning stories from the 2019 and 2020 Bethlehem Writers Roundtable Short Story Awards. Angela Albertson, our 2019 winner, shares her heartfelt “Oranges and Roses,” and our 2020 winner, Brett Wolff, gives us a good laugh in “Hubbard Has a Fancy Bra.”

So cuddle up with your favorite pet-real or imaginary. No matter. You’ll find just the right story to share. Available from Amazon Books.

About DT

dtkrippene

dtkrippene

A native of Wisconsin and Connecticut, DT deserted aspirations of being a biologist to live the corporate dream and raise a family. After seven homes, a ten-year stint working in Asia, and an imagination that never slept, his muse refused to be hobbled as a mere dream. DT writes science fiction, paranormal, and mystery. DT has published several short stories. “Hell of a Deal” in the paranormal collection - Untethered; “Man’s Best Friend” in the 2021 Best Indie Book for Fiction - Fur, Feathers, and Scales; and "The Lost Gold of Rhyolite" in the award-winning - An Element of Mystery. He now has two short stories in the newly released holiday anthology – Seasons Greetings; “The Heart Needs a Home” and “Millie’s Christmas Wine.” An active member of the Bethlehem Writers Group, he’s been a featured author in the BWG Writers Roundtable Magazine. His latest project is an apocalyptic tale of humans on the edge of extinction and a young man born years after surviving humans had been rendered sterile. You can find D.T. on his website, dtkrippene.com - Searching for Light in the Darkness; and his social media links on Facebook and Pinterest.
